Hello People,

I started some weeks ago to fill out my DTV Visa for Thailand. Today i finally submitted all the neccessary Documents (Passport, Work Contract, Bank Statement with over 500k THB (in EUR), Proof of Residence (registration certificate from city council). Then i paid for it and 5 hours later i just got this email. Around 5 hours after i paid it. Well usually the Thai Embassy takes several weeks for my Visa (did multiple Tourist VISA in the past) but now i just got this after just some hours. (and today is Halloween). Outside of the opening(working times) and super quick. Do you guys have any idea what to do or what could be the reason?

PS: the annoying part is that i don’t even know a reason (if I maybe did a mistake) and that the 350€ fee is just gone.

Thank You in advance!

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user posted about their experience with their DTV Visa application for Thailand, expressing concern after receiving a cancellation notice just hours after submission, despite providing all required documents and paying the fee. Comments from the community suggested various reasons for the cancellation, such as potential issues with the application process, mistakes in personal information, or being outside the consulate's jurisdiction. A follow-up revealed that the application was canceled due to a mix-up with the user's name, emphasizing the importance of double-checking personal details. Users recommended contacting the embassy for clarification and to ensure all documentation is correct in future applications.

From the consulate in New York:

Applications will be canceled in 2 Important cases:

1. You reside outside the jurisdiction of the Consulate General in New York.

Royal Thai Consulate General, New York's Jurisdiction

(Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Vermont)

2. You have filled in incomplete or incorrect personal information.

All personal information that you filled out is shown on your visa document.

Must be correct according to the passport

Most common is mistakes in the personal informations from the passport, which can not be changed / corrected by embassy staff.

And is non refundable

Quick Update: The automatic system which scanned my passport mixed up First & Last name in the Application thats why the Application was cancelled. Got today an answer from the Embassy. Funds will not be returned. My fault to not double check it properly. Will apply today again.

Did you apply on the Evisa site and check that the country you are actually in allows Evisa, did you upload permission to be in that country such as entry stamps and proof of address. Did you prove that all your work was online with permission to work online from your employer or proof of contracts with customers you actually supply online. If any of your work was to supply customers in Thailand and generated money inside Thailand then it wouldnt be allowable.

all you can do is email or try to contact the embassy on FB messenger and ask why. It could be a spelling mistake, they didn't think you were in the country that you applied to, documents were incorrect, etc. There are a few posts in other groups where people did get the information back, is one case the embassy allowed the same fee to be applied to another application but that seems rare.

@Kevin *******
contact bank and show cancellation.

Try to cancel the payment as well...

not likely to happen. When you apply for the e-visa it clearly states the payment will not be refunded if the application is denied, cancelled, etc.

Is this really an official mail from thai embassy of your country? Somehow „e-visa team“ doesn‘t sound like it. can you follow somehow the senders mail address?

Time expired from when you started to when you submitted documents? I think the window isnt very long, maybe 2 weeks from when you start the application to when you're supposed to have all your documents submitted. Start a new application tomorrow.

i thought of it already but would they not just delete the visa application from the thaievisa application page? Do you think they would let me fill out everything upload all documents pay for it and then just cancel? I’m not sure but that would be crazy but maybe someone knows it
Lynnette *******
They cancelled it? Didn't ask for extra info?

after 5 hours on Halloween, no questions asked or no information except for that mail.

My guess is you applied through the Thai embassy in London, which is known to be one of the fastest for processing. But there are also many other embassies that have traditionally been known to have long processing times that have been processing DTV applications quite quickly.
