What should my partner expect when reporting his 90-day visa at immigration after staying in a hotel?

Hello everyone, I’m positing this on behalf of my partner. We are both on an ED visa based in Bangkok, on the 25th of June we stayed at DMK hotel for the night because it’s close to immigration. On the 26th we did our TM30 at immigration. Last week we both did our 90 days online, however mine got accepted and his got rejected? We have done 90 days online 3 times already now. So he plans to go to immigration next week to do his 90 days in person, can anyone tell me more or less what to expect? Any fines or any issues we should prepare for? Thanks for the help.

Disclaimer: we know hotels register you online when our stay there but we weren’t sure that there would be an issue because we were doing our TM30 the next day anyway? The reason for his 90 days being rejected was because he stayed at the hotel.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice for their partner who experienced a rejection while processing a 90-day visa report online after staying at a hotel in Bangkok. There are concerns about potential fines and procedures that need to be followed when he visits immigration in person. Community members suggest checking the latest TM30 address to ensure it matches, taking a fine amount in case of delays, and being prepared for possible requests to complete TM30 reporting before the 90-day report can be processed.

Take 800 baht and a good book to read. You're in for a warm welcoming at immigration.

Better to check your latest TM 30 reported address. If it's different from your 90days reporting address, your 90 days report would be rejected or they ask you to do TM 30 first.

Someone got rejected 90days report online for wrong address, did TM 30 report, tried 90days online again (still in the time frame) then got approved.

then report TM 30 as soon as possible online or in person.

In that case, if you (or he) report at chaengwattana, maybe you expect to be asked to do TM30 first, pay fine for delay of TM 30 (maybe 800thb), then report 90days.

okay, thanks! So my latest TM.30 is the exact same address that we have been using for every 90 days. Just this time they rejected it because he stayed in a hotel for one night..

So I’m assuming, after you stay in a hotel you need to do your next 90 days in person? They don’t allow you to do it online?

If you are still in the time frame of 15 days before till 7 days late he can make the report in person after he changed his address. And I guess that is after the 24 hours he arrived so he could be fined fot late reporting

okay, thanks for this, it’s very helpful. As long as it’s just a fine and nothing else. It doesn’t matter that he did his TM30 the very next day after we stayed at the hotel? We weren’t changing our address or anything, just updating our TM30.

I paid 2000 baht fine for one day delay of 90 days report at cw about 10 days ago. This is probably the worst thing that can happen. And the comment should be closed pretty soon because this is not a visa related question. Good luck.

nope, we used both of our passports!

this is only my assumption. When checking into the hotel, did you use his passport only? Otherwise it does not make sense that only he got rejected while both of you stayed at the hotel. 🤷‍♂️

the thing is his 90 days is only due next week Thursday, he is going on Wednesday? So he will be on time, they just not letting him do it online for some reason? Thanks for this response.
