What do I need to know about TM30 requirements while staying in hotels after getting a DTV visa in Thailand?

Hey everyone

Just wanted to share that I got my DTV (workcation) approval today after 6 days in Hanoi 😃

Very excited for the next chapter of my life in the land of smiles 🙌🏻

I do have a quick question please 🙏

I will be staying in 2 different hotels for the first 2 weeks while I find an apartment

What do I have to do in regards to a TM30 in this situation?

Thanks in advance

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user received their DTV (workcation) visa approval and is seeking guidance on the TM30 reporting process while staying in hotels for the first two weeks in Thailand. Responses indicate that the hotels will file TM30 reports on behalf of guests, especially within the first 24 hours of entry. Once the user transitions to a permanent apartment, their landlord will need to file the TM30, and similar reporting is required for each exit and re-entry to Thailand.

Thank You for your helpful report 👍

Congratulations 👏👏👏

PRINT OUT THE EMAIL THAT HAS YOUR DTV VISA.

That's what you should do... print it out.

You may have to show PROOF of your DTV Visa to airline staff on check-in for your flight ✈️ to Thailand...even to the connecting airline staff. Or to the land border crossing entry Thai Immigration Officer.

Upon arrival into Thailand, show the DTV visa to the Thai Immigration Officer and look at the STAMP placed in your passport to be sure you are STAMPED in for 180 days.

Also it is technically not your responsibility anyway man, its the owner that gets fined if they dont file it.

The hotel will do the tm30 for you buddy. When you find a place that isnt a hotel then request the owner files a new one - they should automatically but just to be safe.

Enjoy thailand!

appreciate that mate, thanks 🙏

Do I need to request proof of it from the hotels for my records? Or will it simply be on the Thai government system as proof? 😃

Anonymous participant you dont neeeed to but id say do it just incase... even though its the duty of the owner, not you. Its you that will have to deal with any issues that may arise so cover ya self with the proof to be safe.

I had a annoying situation at immigration because i didnt realise itd not been submitted and had to pay the owners fine myself. Best to avoid the drama

Congratulations!

Share your application process please. It'll help others.

The TM30 needs to be reported with in first 24 hrs of you entering Thailand. It'll be done by the hotel you'll be staying in.

Once you have an apartment, the TM30 needs to be submitted by your landlord. Everytime you exit and enter Thailand, it'll have to be submitted again with in 24 hrs of you entering Thailand. 90 days reporting will also require the same.
