Do I need an affidavit from the U.S. consulate for my Non Immigrant O visa extension in Chiang Mai?

I’m going into the immigration department in Chiang Mai this week to extend my Non Immigrant O visa for the first time based on marriage to a Thai national. Thanks to this group I think I have everything but still have one question.

My wife has a blue book because she owns a house. I don’t have a yellow book yet.

Does anyone in Chiang Mai know if I will need an affidavit from the U.S consulate in Chiang Mai affirming my residency? I have an appointment but don’t want to cancel before I’m sure I won’t need it. Sorry for asking a follow up question but I’m getting conflicting information. Thx. Ray.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on whether an affidavit confirming their residency is needed for extending their Non Immigrant O visa in Chiang Mai. They mention their wife has a blue book for owning a house, and they don't have a yellow book yet. Responses indicate that an affidavit is not necessary if the TM30 form has been filed by the wife, which confirms the user's residency with her.

That’s done in a small building behind the main office, next to the copy shop.

No, you don't need a certificate of residency. Your wife will have needed to file a TM30 for you, stating you're staying at her house. You need a copy of the receipt with you. If she hasn't done the TM30 already, tell her to go with you next week. Bring house book and Id card, takes a couple minute.

my wife filed the TM30 and I have a copy of the receipt. Thanks, that clarifies this for me so I should be all set now. We will have the blue book and her ID with us if there are any questions. Thanks! Cheers! Ray.
