Just landed at suvanabum and got stopped by immigration for all my visa’s in passport. They give me thirty day’s. Look’s like it’s time to get a non O marriage visa at Savannakhet. One question. Does my name need to be in the blue house book of the wife or do I just take a copy of it with me?

There is no visa for visit a girl friend, other than the normal tourist visa. Next to this every Thai person is listed in a blue housebook.

The yellow book is about as worthless as tits on a tomcat (as is the nifty but equally worthless pink i/d card for foreigners).

Go to your local Amphur (town hall) and get the hand out of what is required to get the yellow book from them. Each one is slightly different

Yes it would be possible if you still work for the same company in Thailand but if transfer to other country for work no you can’t

okay, the documentation you need to get a year-long, multi-entry Non-O visa from the thai consulate in Savannakhet Lao is

original marriage certificate

copies of:

data page of your passport

lao visa & entry stamp

front&back of the original marriage certificate

front&back of your thai wife's i/d card

thai wife's house book listing

You also need two passport sized photos (you'll need 3 really because you need one to get the Lao visa at the border), a filled out application (free at the consulate) and 5000baht

you sign everything with your name on it, she signs everything with her name on it meaning you BOTH sign the marriage certificate copies.

Take a copy of it with you. You can't be included in the Blue House Book as a Foreignor.
