Good Morning, I came into Thailand on a multi entry tourist visa.

Following the amnesty l was given a non o visa until 22 Nov 2020.

To apply for the 1 year visa,( l am married to a Thai ) do I use form TM 7. I have all the required funds and documents.

My wife has been told this Visa will require a visit from the police to our house . Is this correct.

Many Thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual inquired about using form TM 7 to apply for a one-year visa as they are married to a Thai citizen. They pointed out that they have all necessary funds and documents and asked if a home visit by the police is required. A response confirmed that form TM7 is indeed the correct form to use. Additionally, it was mentioned that during the application process, there is typically a 30-day period during which immigration officers may conduct a home visit. However, another user noted their experience of not having a home visit for their extension, potentially due to prior visa status.

Just got my year as Tod explained . I didn’t get a home visit . Maybe because it’s not my first time .

You do indeed use form TM7 (application for extension of stay).

When you apply for the year extension you will get a 30 day under consideration stamp and during that 30 days immigration officers will come to the house and do a home visit. Then when that 30 day stamp is up to you go back to the immigration office and get the extension inked into your passport
