I did this run from Saigon and the hours were the same. I submitted my docs at 8:35a.m. and all went as they indicated it would. Three months ago. You can call that consulate via Skype, in HCMC they were especially helpful.

What are the best options for obtaining a retirement or spouse visa in Thailand quickly without timely documentation?

Do your visa run to Vietnam. They do not require financials -- only marriage certificate...check it out on the Thai Consulate site, VN they clearly list requirements. You can apply in the morning and get the stamps by next afternoon. They will require 90-day border runs, but it's a multiple entry visa. Good luck.

Thank you, Allessandro. I have a schedule crunch, so will do an Asia Air same-day turn around 31st and got my VOA on line. They take B&W print out and I can save a page. Thanks for the advice, much appreciated
