Actually, with BOI, the employer needs to cancel work permit from the system. Then, the employee needs to go to the immigration to get current visa canceled and get a new stamp. So, I think yes, we can call that stamp an extension.

it automatically give us a week to 2 once it's cancelled. My work permit is under BOI.
