But I can book for one month leaving February and pay only $934 with Thai. It's the added expense in June and July, particularly July at $1900 that has me perplexed.
No direct flight. Only 2 airlines fly direct Melb - Bangkok - Thai and Jetstar, the latter which I won't again fly. Scoot is probably the cheapest but not by enough to dissuade me from booking a direct flight. I just don't understand the high prices at the lowest point of the Thai tourist season, particularly when Google claims June to be the cheapest month generally to fly to Thailand.
May was cheaper than June so I imagine April is cheaper still, though still much more than $934 next month. Also Sydney would be cheaper than Melbourne.
