Could you please clarify that rule about submitting 90 day report in person after moving onto covid extension ?

I also moved onto covid extension, but did my report while still being on a work visa. Now I don’t know if I have to follow my old counting or start a new one since I got an extension . And would it be necessary to go there in person only for the first time ? (My last report was done online).
