yes - you would be a tax resident at 180 days. Which has nothing at all to do with your visa. Whether or not you get ‘the correct visa’ is up to you. Many simply choose to use the visa exemption plan and travel in and out instead of the visa hassle
yes it appears it will go back to 30. And each entry can be extended by 30 days. If/when it reverts, one visa exempt entry + extension + border bounce + extension = 120 days
ok - mister I don’t understand. There is NO 180 day limit in any 12 months and never has been. And thousands and thousands of people proving it every single year. If you fear staying for some reason, no problem. Go away. Come back next year. But for people who are staying year round, this doesn’t work.
