Tried to do it recently (Koh Lanta). Found out previous owner had passed away so was told it couldn't be done but that it didn't matter. Was able to renew insurance nonetheless, which is now in my name. Was told to show insurance sticker + letter and that I'd have no problems.
Yes, they're bloody horrible. I wish I could avoid them but as a French citizen living in Paris, I have no other choice but jumping through whatever hoops they come up with (which often vary from one year to the next. Never a dull moment, ha!).🤪
Last February, I extended my SETV 33 days before the end of the 60 days in Bangkok Immigration office. The 30 days were added to the end of those 60 days.
