Thailand is really one the easiest countries to visit...

Just get 10,000 or so baht cash for when you first arrive.

Use you cards as you would In your home country.

Never a good idea to carry too much cash.

As for accommodation, stay at a hotel for a week or so and ask others about what would suit your needs. Check Agoda etc for info.

It really depends on your budget and length of time you will be in Thailand

I did last year. Drill in checked baggage, battery in carry on.

OK in Oz. Was asked a lot of questions prior to domestic flight. Take a photo of the drill and battery for easy explanation...

Go to the Thai embassy website and apply online. Everything is self explanatory, everything that you showed are what they require.

Proof of marriage

ID card wife

Copy blue book

Letter from wife confirming she wants you and staying in her home

Proof of your financial status ( money on bank and/or income while away)

Proof of your home address (copy of driving licence) and utility bill.

After applying, you will be notified if further information is required.

Open an immigration account for her.

Provide all the necessary documents, translations as required.

A phone call is near impossible, emails very slow to get a response, if at all.

Provide everything asked for, if it adds up, and you meet character requirements, a visa will come.

BUT everything has to be done through an immi account.

Just arriving at the Australian embassy won't work. Unless you have a documented appointment, you will be denied entry.

No cost to open an immi account and supply documents.

But you pay the fee before you can submit the documents.

Never leave your passport. It is the property of your countries government.

Illegal to leave it with unauthorised people.
