One more thing? Is it possible to rock up and apply for a 2 month visa on entry at Suvarnabumi , pay then and there, travelling from Melbourne..? Or do I have to have the visa already stamped in passport?

@Don ****
. possibly Don. However, I was let off for 2 days over. (30 day free entry) Signalled through by a Supervisor. Can depend on the reasons and sympathetic staff, how busy they are. 3 days would be pushing the envelope though>

@Nongnuch *******
exactly ! but if you read my post slowly you’ll see that you must always check the validity stamped in the passport then there’s no issue.

Point is if you get a two month visa you cAn stay 3 months if you choose to make use of the extension.

Hi Mike, How so? Visa extension’s straight forward procedure. Rock up to an immigration office nearest you with approx 1800thb and extend a further 30 days. Not sure what you mean @caught out?” At that point immigration will stamp the passport with your exit day. Have I missed something? Mind you the last time I did this the Officer asked for a 500 baht donation to a local School. I obliged of course.

Beth, get advice from an immigration specialist. The process varies from Amphur to Amphur.
