Not that I'm aware of. I've always followed the rules as a regular tourist. I've only tried to stay longer term in Thailand recently, hence the DTV.

I listed my sister's address in Australia (I stay in a unit at the back of her house when I'm there) as my permanent address, and my hotel in Cambodia as current. You have to prove you're in Cambodia to use the embassy, eventhough it's electronic.

I just provided the first page of my monthly e-statement. It shows bank letterhead, account details and current balances (and the first few transactions that fit on the first page).

Yes, e-visa. They no longer accept embassy appointments for DTV there.

Yes, or a neighboring country. Check the embassy's website like I didn't to see what countries can apply there
