TLDR : Answer Summary
Many expats suggest several neighboring countries for applying for the Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) from Thailand. Myanmar, Laos, and Indonesia are highlighted as viable options, with particular ease of access noted for Indonesia, which allows walk-in applications. Laos is praised for a swift application process, typically taking around three days. Some users report favorable experiences in Vietnam and Cambodia, although Cambodia may involve a longer wait time. When applying, it's essential to provide comprehensive financial documentation, including proof of funds, especially if substantial amounts of money are coming from abroad or are in stocks.
Im thinking of applying at Manilla next month, How many months of bank statements did you submit ? They told you when you applied you had been approvied ?
we showed 6-7 months of statements. They went through it all in about 30 minutes and called us back to the window to say we were approved and to collect payment. 18,000php is the fee (approx 10,500 thb)
we were also really impressed with their responsiveness via email when we asked them questions. The Manila embassy does require proof of 500,000thb PER person, including every dependent, no matter the age

Just got mine from Indonesia, very easy process, no appointment, went in on Monday got visa on Thursday.
I listed my sister's address in Australia (I stay in a unit at the back of her house when I'm there) as my permanent address, and my hotel in Cambodia as current. You have to prove you're in Cambodia to use the embassy, eventhough it's electronic.

Yes, e-visa. They no longer accept embassy appointments for DTV there.
I just provided the first page of my monthly e-statement. It shows bank letterhead, account details and current balances (and the first few transactions that fit on the first page).
Myanmar, Laos , Indonesia are still available to apply in person. Myanmar and Laos are appointment system. Indonesia is allowing to walk in without appointment.
is it better to go to one that is apply in person over one where it’s apply online such as Vietnam?

If you have been in thailand for awhile before applying some embassies are not only asking for the 500k statement but they want to know where the money came from. Need to show deposits or withdrawals from outside of thailand especially if using a thai bank account. Even under soft power they can ask about your employment and ability to support yourself without working in thailand so bring as much documentation as possible.
the money in stocks is from inheritance plus savings, I can prove the inheritance received if necessary. It was received over a year ago and has been in stocks since January this year.
which seems better of Cambodia and Vietnam, both in terms of application process and evidence requested if you have any info/knowledge on this please

Anonymous participant Vietnam 5 business days to process, Cambodia 11 days. The threads detail a lot of posts regarding the efficiency and application process of Vietnam especially HCMC. Cambodia is fine if you don't mind the wait.

Recently read LAOS is easy, three days. Maybe I should make a trip to Laos and meet with my ex sugar baby in Laos. 😂 And also get the DTV.
okay. Final question, I promise🤣 - is it sufficient if they request further back bank statements and my bank balance hasn’t been above 500k for the whole period but is as of current time of application
