we used the Thai embassy online in Hoi An Vietnam & only asked for bank statements from our joint account showing 500k for both of us in our one joint account. But like you say each embassy is different.

ok well we were fine we didn’t go through an embassy as embassy’s no longer excepting DTV applications all moved online last April for Uk citizens.

yes they are they excepted mine & my husbands UK joint account for the DTV Paperwork & we then transferred the balance into our Thai bank account & all was ok. Don’t need money to cover your husband it’s 500,000 for both people I am my husbands dependent on DTV & we were only asked for 1x 500,000 bht for the both of us … the money does need to stay in the account at this amount though.

you are correct only 3 months but if you are in Thailand they don’t care if you do extension at immigration & boarder run, only issues will be when you leave & try to leave Thailand & re enter on a flight. That’s why we got our DTV as want to stay long term & have a Thai bank account & can support ourselves.

yes last time we were turned away as extended visa by 4 months ie 60 days on arrival 1 immigration extension of 30 days & 1 extension of 30 at immigration giving us 4 months. We were told only aloud 3 months! All good now as have DTV visa if your not leaving Thailand it’s not a problem but as soon as you leave & try to return via Flight it will flag up at the airport.

we have our DTV only need to do two years of the 5 then, Luckily my Husband turns 50 so 🤞 we can then change over to retirement visa.

can’t cancel a visa if you have paid the money & already have one, can only refuse to extend.

only 2 boarder runs per year now & Fly in two times per year if you leave Thailand & have done more than this & try to get back into Thailand via air Immigration at Airport will not let you re enter.
