Hi my Husband & I are currently in Vietnam after using up our 60 day visa, we are going to apply for the DTV 5 year visa. How long do we have to wait before applying given that we have only left Thailand for 3 weeks now, is it still 30-60 days before we can apply or because it’s the DTV can we apply online straight away? Many thanks 🙏

TLDR : Answer Summary
The poster and their husband are currently in Vietnam after using a 60-day visa for Thailand. They inquire about the waiting period before they can apply for a DTV (Digital Nomad Visa) 5-year visa. Respondents confirm that there is no waiting period, and they can apply through the embassy immediately, emphasizing the importance of applying sooner rather than later.

I would apply sooner rather than leave it along time . If you go back to thailand you get your 60 days again

You don't have to wait any amount of time. As long as you are in Vietnam you can apply through the embassy using the e-visa system.

Brilliant thanks for your reply, we have all the necessary paperwork & signed up with the cooking school before leaving Thailand, we had already booked up hotels in Vietnam for two weeks time. So will probably apply after a few days! Also sorry any Ideas on roughly how long the DTV will take for both of us to be approved? Given that I will be the dependable person as his wife.

thank you we won’t be going to an embassy just application via E-Visa online as embassy’s are no longer taking walk in applications in vietnam. But great advise!! Thank you. 🙏

I believe they say 10 working days. You'd want to check the website of the Thai embassy or consulate you'll be using, since there are 2 in Vietnam. I'd apply sooner rather than later.

Take note as this is very important. If you are going to be applying for a DTV for one of you through taking a course, and the other will be getting a dependent DTV visa, you will have to double the time. The first person must apply, wait, and RECEIVE the DTV visa first. And then the 2nd person can apply after the first one is received. That's because one of the required documents in order to apply for the dependent DTV is a copy of the primary person's already issued DTV visa.

10 working days each. As she's going apply as his spouse she needs to wait until his DTV has been issued before she can apply.
