Folks, you're getting confused with acronyms. SSDI is still payable and Thailand is a country where you can use direct deposit. This is for the disabled, like me.

SSI Is supplemental income for those with very low incomes. You can only receive that when living in the US or US territories.

SSA is the branch of government that deals with all facets of social security.

Regular retirement social security is payable like SSDI. This is the one folks can start receiving at 62.

Medicare is like SSI and only works in the US and its territories.

yes, 7-10 years old, but it still shows in many databases. It never disappears. It could have also been 5 years ago and peoples situations can be totally changed in that time.
