yeah many people i know stay away from getting the marriage visa as many offices have some crazy requirements every year. getting the DTV is just one fairly simple online process. if you have the 4 documents required then its 10mins of effort and you are good for 5 years with a few border runs.
just not very good english on their behalf. my initial request included my visa/stamp dates. can guarantee that its 100% legit. i now asked for clarification in regards of the insurance, which must be a mistake…
the original document never stated 10k for the extension. it stated no costs for the extension. but it was later officialy added to be 1900 baht… there is also Thai Immigration Bureau Order No.
********
which specifies some things for the extension. and there is the official DTV regulations in the royal gazette.
its the Krabi Immigration Office. Which is usualy super super easy to deal with. So i assume that offices in BKK, CM, Chonburi , etc. will just be even more crazy
i can do a border run, sure… but i want to explore all options and learn about the process and share the experience in this group. idk why people are so reluctant to understand. if i can get one extension done and know the process then it will be easier down the road. in Krabi the extension would take me probably 1.5 hours from leaving the house to returning to it. so why not exploring our options???
i think currently its more valuable for the group to find out about the extension and share our knowledge and experience. everyone knows that you could border run for a new stamp.
