Just did mine today. It costs 1900 baht. You need a photocopy of your passport photo page and your entry stamp page, and you need a passport photo plus the address of where you are staying. And your physical passport of course. There’s a place next door where you can get your photo and photocopies done. It takes a couple of hours to go through the whole process, there’s a lot of waiting around for your turn.

There's plenty of European airports with this problem at the moment, all the British papers are moaning about it. But there's also loads of airports that never have this kind of problem. It's not an impossible problem to solve, it's just not a priority for them.
