thanks, I was just more interested in actual reports from those who have done it since I’ve personally heard and read some pretty widely varying accounts. A friend of mine’s husband applied from the US for example and 3 weeks on he still didn’t have his. Not sure how long it finally took in the end.

It does seem odd that as per the system you can’t leave the country you apply for the visa in until it’s granted but you don’t know how long it will take for it to be granted.

In any case, what would you say is the average number of days it takes when applying online from Vietnam (if they don’t have to ask for more documents)?

Thank you for this tip. Since it can apparently vary widely in how long it takes for a DTV to be granted, how does one plan to be in a country for an indeterminate amount of time while waiting for the DTV to be approved? Or is the time period quite standardized now? I’ve read reports varying from a week to more than a month.

thank you - so at that point (Oct 9 onwards) do you think it will be possible for non Turkish (and non Türkiye residents) to get the DTV by applying online (e-DTV) while physically in Turkiye?

ok thanks, I guess I have to enquire in person when I get to Istanbul. But I would ideally prefer to know beforehand so I can plan more easily.

OK that’s confusing and not very encouraging. I did read a report of someone getting the DTV recently in Ankara but they were Turkish and went in person. I will be in Istanbul and wondered if I could as a non Turkish citizen either apply in person in the consulate in Istanbul or electronically via Ankara.
