 I was on the 3 repatriation flight, I could have chose 1st or 2nd but opted for the 3rd so as to have more chance of getting a seat.

 August to January things may well have changed I cant comment, I only can talk of my own personal experience in August mate.

 it states you need fit to fly certificate and a negative Covid test within 72 hours . The two go together and I was on a Thai Airways flight in August the Thais I spoke with on board and in the ASQ hotel all had to have to Covid test.
