TLDR : Answer Summary
Thai nationals returning to Thailand from the UK generally do not need a COVID-19 test. However, it is crucial to check with the airline as they may have specific requirements. While the Thai government has stated that no test is required for entry, there may be exceptions based on recent updates or if the traveler is transiting through other countries. A Certificate of Entry (COE) and a fit-to-fly certificate are still mandatory.

Thai Nationals don't need Covid test if they flying with Thai Airways, other airlines it's different, if fly with Thai Airways the SQ is free, for the present,COE is still required....as is a fit to fly certificate 72 hours valid to flight. This is what my fiance had.

@Jonathan ******
72 hours before fight certificate is the Covid test .

@Alan ********
it's the same period fit to fly and covid test if you need Covid test...

@Jonathan ******
it states you need fit to fly certificate and a negative Covid test within 72 hours . The two go together and I was on a Thai Airways flight in August the Thais I spoke with on board and in the ASQ hotel all had to have to Covid test.

yes if your not a Thai National...if your Thai national you don't need a covid test, just fit to fly, I can't comment for what the Thai Nationals you spoke too, but clearly they didn't read the Thai Airways and embassy websites, my fiancé flew out on 27th January, without covid test and staying state quarentine hotel...for free...!

Repatriation flights and then headed straight to quarantine, sounds fair. I agree with Thailand making it as easy as possible for their citizens to return. But personally, I wouldn’t get on that flight with those untested Thais 🤷‍♂️

That is correct however according to the Thai government briefing this week they are now saying everyone coming from the U.K. needs one so I would check with the embassy first, or you would get refused in the airport

there is still no confirmation of this and it’s not official. Pls follow the embassy advice - currently no Covid test required for Thais entering Thailand.

type pr Thai government in Facebook

They have an English language briefing every day. It was this week I can’t remember what day but I’m sure it wasn’t Monday so look for Tuesday on

Thai nationals will most definitely need a COE regardless of who they fly with. They dont need a Covid test if flying Thai airways.

No airline is dictating whether you need a covid test or not. It’s down to the government regulations at your point of entry or transit. Currently Thai govt have stipulated there is no requirement for Thais to have a covid test to enter Thailand. If you are transiting through another country then need to check the requirements of that country - your airline would be able to advise though.

Thai nationals do not need to be tested unless the airline they are travelling with insist on this.

Any repatriation flights operated by Thai Airways. Thai nationals are not tested.
@Wanda ***************
everyone who comes to the UK now needs to have a RT-PCR test before landing here inc Thai people.

For Thailand they do not need a covid test. However, the airline may require one.
