TLDR : Answer Summary
The acceptance of your German insurance by Thai authorities depends on whether it explicitly covers COVID-19. Some people have faced difficulties due to a lack of specific mention of COVID in their insurance policy. It’s recommended to request a written confirmation from your insurer stating that COVID-19 is covered, along with the coverage amount which must be at least $100,000. While some individuals have successfully used insurance that did not mention COVID specifically (with accompanying documentation), it varies by airline and Thai consulate requirements. Always ensure compliance with the latest travel regulations and insurance requirements.

It was emphasized to me that you must have something explicitly saying your insurance covers Covid up to a minimum of 100K.

i used my uk insurance with UKI supplied through my bank account and it was fine - it doesnt mention covid-specifically on it - there was a lot of documents as with most insurance policies so i cannot see them being scrutinised too much as long as medical cover stated is over the 100,00 USD

I think the airline wouldn’t let you board unless all your documents are as requested,so in the first instance I would contact the airline

The Certificate of Entry
The declaration form, duly completed and signed
Fit to Fly health certificate, issued within 72 hours before departure – this is a statement by a doctor that you are free from symptoms and fit to fly (must be separate from COVID test)
COVID-19 test result, with a laboratory output indicating that COVID -19 is not detected (COVID test must be by RT-PCR method), issued within 72 hours before departure
A copy of your health insurance policy with coverage including COVID-19 related treatment in Thailand in the amount no less than 100,000 USD (or a note verbale certifying that the embassy/organisation will pay for your medical expenses including COVID-19)
Copy of your confirmed booking at an ASQ hotel

What you need to present at airlines check-in counter and upon arrival in Thailand
yes I know the point people need to know is to liaise with their Thai consulate and if they choose not to follow their guidelines then there is no point in asking for help her because none can be given
no need to mention specific COVID, as long as you get a cover letter from the insurance that it covers covid and the insured amount is minimum US$ 100k. Saying that, it depends on individual embassies if they accept it or not, but it should not be a problem when the word COVID is not mentioned in the policy.

It has to mention covid, what some people have been doing is getting a cover letter from there insurers specifying that the insurance covers covid up to x amount remembering Thailand is US

Ask the insurance company to specify in a letter that covid is included and the level of cover.
correct, they will give you the letter if they cover and thats enough for entering Thailand

You need to look at your policy wording. It needs to state the coverage amount of your policy, cover while in Quarantine and also states clearly it covers covid.
Revolut has this in their premium and metal plans.
Here is a sample of this. Section E.

I would say no as most of the insurance companies are Thai.
Many exoats (including me) would much much rather have a comprehensive health insurance, not one that can JUST be used in Thailand. And with an international company. I agree with
I’ve read conflicting reports on this. Some have hit a roadblock because it doesn’t specifically mention Covid but others didn’t have issues. Perhaps it would be best to see if the company could confirm in writing that they do indeed cover you for Covid.
