in many countries of the world, when an expat decides to relocate there, and bring in alot of money, make investments, and be a good citizen, they are treated with a great deal of honor and respect by the government and immigration.
They actually try to improve the experience, not make it more difficult. In reality, we deserve that respect.
NOT in Thailand. We choose to live here despite the government.
but, that is the point. The citizens are NOT allowed to act here. All we can do is show displeasure. The economy in the US and Mexico are pumping. Thailand is unique, when it comes to self imposed, self destruction. You won't win this argument. Tens of millions of Thais agree.
Over 70 countries worldwide, open with no restrictions other than a negative PCR, and double vax. What is the difference? Those nations are run by adults, with experience. And they want tourists.
I live in Thailand. I have alot of unemployed friends. I talk to car dealers who have not sold a car in weeks. Restaurants that are closing. Bar owners that have lost their life savings. Folks who see homelessness exploding around them.
Optimism is good, as long as it takes reality into consideration. Things are very rough here.
