Seeing conflicting information online about required docs for visa exempt extension. Some places saying everything down to exit flights + bank statements and some places saying just show up with tm30, fill out the extension form, sign some papers, and pay.

In the Chom Thong area of Bangkok if that helps.

Looks like the Immigration division 1 at Lak Si is the local office for short term extensions. Thanks in advance, don’t want to mess it up in person and have hours of delay with my toddler at immigration

Hi all. I’ll be going to Bangkok immigration -Lak Si to extend my Non-O and get the multiple re-entry permit. Logistics question for you - should I get my “tickets” (the number to see the agents) first and then go to the bank for the letter and passbook update etc - or should I do that first and then get the tickets to wait in line? If I miss my number being called, can I go to the agent or do I need to get another number and start again? This is my first time doing it so was wondering what your experiences were. Thanks.

Anyone who has been there: Is Counter K at IT Square Lak Si only helping people who have appointments?

The reason I ask, is when it was at MTT, it was strictly by appt. Then later the appt was optional. Wondering if I can just show up at Lak Si without appt., or will I be turned away?

Hi, following maybe of help to some. I have a 12 month multi entry Non Imm O Visa based on Thai wife. Visa was obtained in Sydney and expires end Jan 2021 and allows me to stay in Thailand for 3 months before needing to bounce. My current stay ended 25 May 2020 and I have been on amnesty.

Today (and Friday last week) I went to Immigration office in Lak Si to apply for a 12 months extension. Today I was given an ‘Under consideration’ stamp and need to go back in 1 month.

Some feedback on my experience:

Immigration staff were very helpful and friendly however very strict on the Visa requirements. Need originals of everything you have copied. I had 400K in bank for 2 months and had Bank confirmation letter. Bank book needs to be updated on the day of attending immigration not the day before. I need to provide another update of Bank book (not letter from Bank) to ensure 400K still in bank on the day I return for under consideration result. Thai Wedding certificate + Kr.2 (this is provided with marriage certificate) was required. They did not accept just Thai Wedding Certificate. 4 photographs of wife and I in front of/in house including Room address number was required. Needed to complete and sign 3 additional forms acknowledging over stay penalty awareness. Cost was 1,900 Baht.

In summary very thorough and very strict however staff friendly and helpful. Make sure you have ALL your required documents.

I am up for my first 90 day notification in a few days. I got my retirement visa back in early April, with no small thanks to you guys, and have been led to believe the three month report is just a confirmation of my address. I am not sure what to expect or what to bring to the Immigration office in Lak Si. Do I need bank statements or just a copy of my current lease for my condo? I kind of got the impression that I just turn up to let them know I am still here and no money changes hands. I also believe that there may be a medical insurance requirement. I do not have insurance so would appreciate any info you may have on this topic.
