Seeing conflicting information online about required docs for visa exempt extension. Some places saying everything down to exit flights + bank statements and some places saying just show up with tm30, fill out the extension form, sign some papers, and pay.

In the Chom Thong area of Bangkok if that helps.

Looks like the Immigration division 1 at Lak Si is the local office for short term extensions. Thanks in advance, don’t want to mess it up in person and have hours of delay with my toddler at immigration

Answer summary

There is conflicting information regarding documents required for extending a visa-exempt stay in Thailand. Generally, for a 30-day tourism extension at the IT Square Laksi office, you typically do not need to provide exit flights or bank statements; just the TM30 form and the completed extension application are sufficient. It's advisable to check with local immigration officers as the procedures may vary.

Please clarify, is going to Lak Si the same as previously going to Chaeng Wattana? Use BTS Pink Line and get off at Government Complex? Many thanks, gotta go next week.

You got some mixed information. A usual 30-day tourism extension doesn't require a flight ticket or bank statement.

You go to the IT Square Laksi office for a tourism extension on visa-exempt entry.

General information for tourism extension is here. This covers those in Bangkok.
