TLDR : Answer Summary
The post inquires about the differences in health insurance certificates between Thai and foreign insurance companies, specifically addressing AIA. Comments suggest that AIA should know what is required and clarify that a health insurance certificate is not necessary for an Extension of Stay based on a Non-Immigrant O visa. It appears that only policies from specific Thai insurance companies are recognized for certain visa applications.

To see if you are insured by one of the 13 thai insurance companies for your yearly extension they look up your valid insurance policy on a website database. By putting in your passport number. There is NO form.

And hereby the Thai version of the page wit requirements to apply for the Extension of Stay based on being over 50 years of age.

Good luck.

You do not need a health insurance when you apply for an Extension of Stay based on a Non Immigrant O visa. Go to the Immigration office yourself, show your passport, ask the hand out and make the copies yourself. If you use an agent, sorry but what ever they charge and want to see from you, you deliver. There is nothing we can advice about agency policies.

Sorry but this page is for Thai Visa advice, not how do I explain my health insurance that I need a piece of paper to show a visa agent in Thailand that I have an insurance. You do NOT need a Health Insurance for an Extension of Stay based on being over 50 years of age (Retirement) if you hold a Non Immigrant O visa, without the extra letters -A or -X.

AIA do not know about foreigner health insurance.

And they are not on the list.

They (my agent) asked me what papers I need.

I have non-O.

But Nakhonphanom immigration say.

"Insurance is for all retirement extension"

I know is is only for OA , but he says different.

AIA should know exactly what a foreign health insurance certificate looks like. They have an office, and sell insurance, here in Thailand.
