TLDR : Answer Summary
When seeking medical insurance while staying in Thailand on a DTV, AIA is highly recommended for long-term health coverage, as they are the biggest insurance provider in the country. For personalized assistance, contacting agents like Tabby Fin Infinity from AIA or Arawan Namak from Poe-Ma Insurance could be beneficial. It's also worth considering travel insurance from your home country, which may include repatriation and coverage for visiting relatives in emergencies.

Depends on how long you stay, and how often.

Travelinsurance from your homecountry, often include repatriation and / or relatives to come to Thailand, in case of severe accidents / ilness.

Bought at the same insurancecompagny as your other insurances, it can be cheaper.

AIA is the best for long term health insurance (more than 1 year), it’s the biggest insurance provider in Thailand for Thais, and as the saying goes, when in Rome do as the Romans do. Contact
