Medical insurance…

PLEASE ONLY POST IF YOU HAVE PREVIOUS / CURRENT CLAIMS EXPERIENCE.

Would like to hear from members experiences with medical insurance companies. Who have you used that have good customer service and settled your claim without any fuss?

Not sure if we can mention the bad ones due to laws here in Thailand? I’m sure someone will clarify if that can be discussed.

Thanks in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post seeks firsthand accounts from expats in Thailand regarding their experiences with medical insurance providers and the efficiency of their claims process. Participants share both positive and negative experiences, emphasizing customer service and ease of claims. Notable mentions include Cigna and AIA for their good service, while WrLive receives criticism for poor claim handling. The discussion highlights the importance of choosing reputable companies and direct dealings for better service.

I have used Cigna Global (great service, hospitals like dealing with them no issues they always paid the hospital direct) but they arr more expensive. Switched to AIA and so far no problems with claims (claimed once other times hospital wad direct paid). Custoner service has been good for me, but my wife is an AIA agent so that may help. Good luck (and can DM me if you would like a quote from them)

yes I had a motorcycle accident all taken care of. My advise stick with bigger companies you get what you pay for. The horror stories are usually from lower end companies people don't want to pay a bit extra so they get screwed around. Also deal direct with the company not agents.

My daughter has just spent time in hospital MTL we’re fantastic and authorised the claim straight away. I was dreading it as heard some terrible stories about some insurances but they liaised with the hospital and there agents were so helpful.

Unfortunately, you only find out if insurance companies are good at the worst time. It’s why I’m trying to get feedback from experienced claimers.

Who’s MTL sorry?

yes unfortunately you do. Muang Thai life. My step mum and sister who are Thai told me to go with them when I moved the family here. I had read a lot about insurances not paying out or you having to pay then claming back. I’m from uk we don’t have to have private health care, so I had zero experience and listened to them, so glad I did but I was still waiting for them to expect me to pay , right up until she was discharged 🤣All I had to do was pay 250baht for her medication. This was literally the past weekend
