Why not just take care of own health, save money on insurance and have emergency fund for health care? Should be much cheaper and incentivizing to live healthy life.
As an expat advisor for more than 35 years dealing with expat insurance I have the knowledge and experience your need to assist you with your insurance needs.
Expat health insurance is vital for those living abroad, offering comprehensive coverage, with a minimum sum assured of $500,000 per annum, including emergency medical evacuation because you just might need the cover.
Many domestic plans exclude emergency medical evacuation and have very low limits, and often don’t allow treatment out of country.
Most travel insurance plans becomes invalid after the trip period typically 30,60 or even 90 days expecting you to return to your home country before the end of this period.
A quality expat insurance provides continuous coverage for as long as you want to continue paying the premiums.
Ensure your expat medical plan includes provisions for returning to your home country, maintaining coverage, and portability if you relocate.
Don't rely on travel insurance—it’s designed for short trips away from your home country not those living overseas as expats.

maybe he meant Michael Jackson ‘bad’ 😄. from what I’ve heard they are the right choice for digital nomads these days. I’ve not made a claim yet but I hear they don’t mess about
I have insurance through my company which is mostly useless. I think maybe it will help in emergencies, but I think there is a clause "If out of the USA for more than 30 days" so I really don't trust it.
I have had some minor medical stuff done over the years. Doctor's visits are pretty cheap here (compared to the US) so I don't bother with insurance.
what you have is basic travel insurance valid usually 30 to 45 days. If you plan to stay in Thailand for more than 3o days you need medical insurance no travel insurance

Depending on what u need/age etc take a look at Genki. Wont work for everyone but does for me! €60 odd a month and can cancel at anytime and covers pretty much the same as the big boys. I have a referral code should you need
they have an app u book it through and its instant. U pay the excess via the app and they cover the rest. Same for any outpatient appointments. They only started using this about 6mths ago and its great
