So... where to begin here. My god what a horrible experience with the Thai embassy in the Hague!

Nobody never attend the calls. I did call them 100 times never ever someone picked up.

When asked question for the DTV soft no one ever gives conreet answers! They just say: check the site. Or an copied automatic message.

All required documents I delivered as of most important:

Proof of funds last 3 months

Proof of funds of the actual day of today.

When asked why its rejected nobody answers.

What a big headache pfff

I did 5 borderruns in 2025, this is the issue?

Someone have experience with the embassy in The Hague?

HCMC consulate asking me documents I already sent in my initial application, driving me nuts because everything is already explained, then they ask me salary slips when i told them i am freelance in my application and is project based... it feels like im talking to a wall tbh. Is tawain thai embassy better for freelace people? like do they at least read what you send them?

Just got approved from Colombo Sri Lanka

Applied: december 1st in the evening

Requested additional documents (all passport pages only) december 2nd in the morning

Submitted all passort pages 16:00

December 3: got asked for an interview december 4th

Went to the interview was a little chat less then 5 minutes gave copies of all the documenets

Got approved in the evening at december 4th

Took less then 4 days.

Dtv -> freelancer

Seems like a super smooth process and didn’t got asked anything besides the things on the Thai Embassy website

They do require 6 months statements but it’s fine if the money was there for 3 months although I’m not sure if they only want final balance above 500k+ or 3 months 500k+

As I didn’t find to much information in the group about applying there wanted to share my experience.

It seems like it’s a very good embassy and goes super quick they told me 2 working days (additional documents will reset this)

Got mine in 3

Just got my DTV application rejected by the Warsaw embassy. The reason was "

* The Thai Culinary Course, with a total duration of 6 months and only 20 hours of culinary training, does not meet the requirements for the DTV visa. The limited course frequency and intensity are insufficient to support an application*.*

So im in vientiane, Laos. Been here since 9th. Paid money 14th....they just gave us an interview date of 1st August FFS.

This is ridiculous.

Update - they kindly moved it forwards for me following a polite request. Looks like il be out of here 9 days from payment so I take back my above comments 😂 had a whale of a time here in Laos. If you bothered to learn any Thai in Thailand youl love it too as they speak issan and a lot of Thai and youl be able to communicate with and get to know some wonderful locals.

Has anyone had experience applying for the DTV for remote workers for Thailand in Hanoi? (Costs, time it takes to get everything done, ease/difficulties, etc.). Thankful for any advice. Many thanks in advance.

DTV APPLICATION: (SOON TO BE) REJECTED

I want to share my experience with the embassy in Rome regarding my DTV application.

I hold an Italian passport and applied online for a DTV through the Rome embassy, even though I don't live in Italy. However, I was in Italy in October when I applied.

My company is based in Estonia. I'm the sole owner of my business, so everything is legitimate and all documents are in order.

I submitted my application on October 8th. They quickly asked for proof of my company's existence and ownership, which I provided.

By December 27th (today), so almost three months the initial application, my visa status still says (Processing - Pending Approval).

I wrote emails, no response.

I called a few times and was told they couldn't verify the validity of my business in Estonia, which I found quite ridiculous, they would have let the Consul know.

Today, I called again because they still hadn't given me any updates. This time, they told me my application would be rejected for the same reason: they couldn't verify my company's validity since it's not based in Italy.

They advised me to apply directly through the Thai Embassy in Helsinki, Finland, since Estonia falls under their jurisdiction for verification purposes.

Despite how absurd this situation seems, I want to know if anyone else has experienced something similar.

Does it make sense to apply through Finland even though I'm not physically there?

I'd appreciate any advice or suggestions because I'm quite shocked by this whole process. If anyone has had a similar experience or has any tips, I'd love to hear them.

Thought I'd post this while waiting on my DTV in Hanoi. If your going to apply from a Thai embassy outside of your home I would advise that you book your stay as a holiday not as a 3-4 day anxious waiting experience that basically ramps up anxiety and keeps you rebooking accommodation. Also, on a personal note, if you want a peaceful quiet experience while waiting, don't stay in the old quarter, it's crazy !
