My experience getting an ED visa from Yangon:
I arrived at the embassy with all my paperwork plus 6 months of bank statements and 80 USD in cash at 08:30. The door to the embassy is on a side road - it is a steel door next to the main gate. There was a line of about 6 other people waiting when I arrived. By the time the door opened, there were about 20 of us in total.
The line moved inside quickly and I presented all of my paperwork that my school had provided me with. I sat down to wait upon the instructions of the lady working there. After about 10 minutes, she told me the officer wanted to see bank statements - lucky that I brought them just in case. After another 10 minutes or so, I was asked to pay 60 USD for the visa. One of the 20s I gave to the girl was rejected because of a minuscule amount of pink ink that was on the top of the bill - again, lucky I had a spare 20 to replace it with. I was then given a slip of paper and told to come back the next day.
Arrived at around 13:30 - the time I could pick up the passport - and there were about 40 people in line, through the same door. The line moved quickly, took about 10 minutes to get to the front and collected my passport. Flew back in through DMK and had no issue with the IO at the airport.
I did not see anyone get rejected while I was at the embassy and saw nobody called back for any interview or whatever either.
