Hi everyone! Any fellow Canadians here who have applied for the DTV? I'd love to know if you applied through the Ottawa or Vancouver embassy and what your experience was like. I'm especially curious about the success rate before I submit my application. Thanks in advance ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

TLDR : Answer Summary
Several Canadians shared their experiences applying for the Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) in Thailand. Many found the Vancouver consulate to be very responsive, with one applicant receiving approval within 2 days after providing proof of funds and a contract. Another user mentioned that their husband's application was approved in just 2 hours. Overall, community feedback suggests a positive success rate for those applying through both the Ottawa and Vancouver embassies.

we applied to Vancouver. Very responsive to emails and we did even get through on the phone! My husband's was approved in 2 hours and my dependant was about 24 hrs. That was at the end of July though, so not as busy. You choose the one that applies for your location in Canada. Manitoba west is Vancouver, everywhere else is Ottawa.

I applied at the Vancouver consulate and got it approved within 2 days.

Submitted proof of funds, a contract I have with one of my clients and a cover letter explaining what I do for work.

did you call them to ask what you needed? Iโ€™m in Kelowna and trying to figure out if I can do it online or do I have to go to Vancouver or can I just call them?

I did not call to ask - they usually never answer the phone anyways. The application is very very straightforward , and you can pause and can come back to it anytime before submitting. Not worth the trip to Vancouver Iโ€™d say as Iโ€™m sure they want you to apply online anyways!?

I saw someone just post about it in the last couple days, but can't remember what Facebook group. They were successful though and I think they said it took 3 weeks
