Advice please! I am from the UK and flew into Bangkok at the end of February on visa exemption - stayed 28 days. Travelled around and re-enerered Thailand through slow boat from Laos, start of June, on second visa exemption - stayed 2 weeks. I am now in Cambodia and have been here for 2 weeks. I want to go back to Bangkok to fly to the UK. Can I enter Thailand again through a second land boarder crossing with the visa exemption? It would be 3 visa exemptions in total, 1 flight and 2 land boarder. I have heard Poi Pet immigration is is notorious for refusing entry. Thank you very much πŸ™

Hi everyone,

Please can I have some advice. My boyfriend and I are travelling to Thailand in November, we were planning to stay 3-6 months. We are from the UK.

After looking into it, we are trying to decide which is best to do

1. Enter Thailand with the visa exempt for 45 days then get a 30 day extension. Leave Thailand and spend a few nights in Cambodia then go back to Thailand and be visa exempt again for another 45 days then get another extension

Or

2. Apply for a tourist visa which allows us 60 days, then extend for 30 days. After this, travel to Cambodia for a few nights, then are we allowed back in Thailand on the visa exempt?

Sorry if that sounds messy, just wondering what to do😊

Thanks in advance.

Anyone from uk having issues with the evisa www site? It seems to want extra info (such as proof of cash, details of thai invitee, etc, even though im only applying fir 60 day TV. I KNOW I dont need that stuff. Even thier own example doc, stops at the accommodation booking.... BTW i hope they didn't need the whole trip booking itinerary! I just put in my first hotel for a few days.... And I'm assuming i need to print off the declaration, sign it and scan it back in before uploading a copy? I aint done that yet, so im hoping its just finding that and randomly catching the other stuff i dont even need to provide.... Anyone done this recently who can assist? Many thanks - J

***UPDATE: Visa Extension in Bangkok

Went to Muang Thong Thani Immigration centre. You need a passport photo, a copy of your passport, your passport and 1900 THB. You can get pics and copies on the ground floor.

Go to floor 3 (counter K) and make sure you get a ticket. They only give out 300 per day and some people were arguing at the front that they had been waiting for ages but didn't have a ticket so weren't served.

We got there at 11am and got ticket number 164. At at 12 they closed for lunch until 1pm. In total we waited about 3 hours (excluding lunch).

There's a room where you fill out the forms (6 sides in total) and you have to give a reason for needing the extension. The first option mentions 'the ongoing pandemic' so that's what I wrote.

I'm from the UK and couldn't get a tourist visa before I arrived as I wasn't travelling from there, so it was denied as I couldn't provide flight tickets from the UK to Thailand.

Hope that's helpful :)

***

Just arrived in Thailand on a visa exemption, but I want to extend it so have some questions!

Sorry here's an update on info! I'm from the UK, here to visit but want to stay as long as possible :)

1. Where do I go and what do I need to take? I'm in Bangkok.

2. Is it likely that I'll even get the extension? I heard that it's only for people who can't go home because of covid, but I definitely could if I wanted to.

3. After this extension runs out, if I want to stay in Thailand for longer, how do I go about it? Would I need to leave for Cambodia for a few days and then return on an exemption again?

Thank you!

What happens when you die as an UK ex pat living in Thailand..does the Thai authorities inform the British Embassy in Bangkok who in turn inform UK embassy and HMRC and private pensions..the reason I ask is I have a Thai wife and 6 month son..my police pension people have my Thai wife as beneficiary when I die..but I need to know who needs informing in UK and what docs they need eg Thai death certificate translated..I live in rural Issan (only ferang) I have given my police pension info to my Australian brother in law in Melbourne who is married to my wifes sister so in the event of my death he can contact the pension department ..I have sent an enquiry form to the pension dept re this but after 5 weeks received no reply..I am 64 and hope to live a lot longer however no one knows..just want to know my wife and son are going to be ok if the worse happens. Thanks in advance stay safe

If I was to get a 45 day visa on arrival, just wondering if it's possible to extend that for another 30 days? Thanks.
