TLDR : Answer Summary
Retired UK citizens living in Thailand are considered UK taxpayers, and their private pensions are taxed in the UK. Although state pensions do not increase while living abroad, the UK has agreements with Thailand regarding tax payments. If retirees do not enter the UK for over 90 days in a year, they may be eligible to claim back certain taxes under specific conditions, especially if they have no other income from the UK.

Thailand have an agreement with the Uk that your private pension tax is paid in the Uk and your state pension never increases because you live abroad.
I have been through all this with specialist tax accounts

This is what the gov website puts down. Now I owned a company in the Uk and my accountant was with me for 35 years and saved me loads. If there was a will he would find a way
that's the information I got when I took my private pension when I was 55.then I got told couldn't claim rebate because it was the next tax year. Only going on what I was told
so what if you take your pension in a lump some pay your taxes on it move out of the uk and then make yourself a none tax paying citizen.
If you don't enter the uk for more than 90 days a year you can claim that tax back if you claim in the same year as long as you have no other interests paying you money
if you have income in the UK you pay tax in the UK. If you have income from outside of the UK it depends on where your domicile is. Domicile will depend on links to the UK but it isn't easy to change
