TLDR : Answer Summary

The comments highlight varied experiences at embassies, a specific case of someone obtaining the DTV in Vientiane for medical treatment, and related inquiries about visa options for family visits and cooking classes in Bangkok.

Looking for same thing, thinking Phnom Penh might be best, but heard it takes at least 6 days.

I am also curious about this one. My mother wants to visit me for a while (longer than 60days). So we are looking for cooking class school in Bangkok.

I saw a post (not sure if it was in this group or another) from someone who successfully got the DTV in Vientiane for medical treatment (they had a treatment plan written and stamped by their doctor)
