What should I do if my Thai tourist visa status hasn't changed and I'm flying soon?

I applied for a tourist visa about 15 days ago (I’m American). Last week I received an email requesting additional documents, which I immediately sent. The status of my visa hasn’t changed since then, and I fly on Wednesday. Any suggestions or thoughts on how I should proceed? I haven’t been able to reach anyone at the embassy.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user, an American, is awaiting the status of their tourist visa application submitted 15 days prior, which is still pending despite sending requested documents. They have concerns as their flight is on Wednesday and have been unable to reach the embassy. Suggestions from the community include contacting the embassy via Facebook for quicker assistance, and reminders that Americans do not require a visa for stays up to 30 days, which can be extended.

Did you go through the ThaiPass registration ?

You should just come anyway. If it worked you can use it. If it didn't you can get in without it

Americans don’t need a visa. You will be stamped in for 30 days and can extend 60 days.

You sure it wasn't a scam email and you're applying directly with Embassy, not through a 3rd party ?

Same thing happened with me. It never arrived before I left.

@Daniel ******
so did you end up just doing visa on arrival?

@Ben ******
same happened to me. I entered Thailand by a visa exempt 30-day. Thai visa was approved 1 week later which was useless. Los Angeles Thai embassy works extremely slow.

Americans do not qualify for visa on arrival, but they can get visa exempt.

yep just the standard 30 days and extended 30 days after that at immigration. I looked at the status like 6 weeks after I was in Thailand and the status never even changed from request it document

Message them on Facebook. They usually reply there. But give all of the details like your name, passport number, what they needed and what you sent. That way they don't need to reply and can just look it up based on your message and fix it.

Most e-visas are issued in 3-5 days

Many thanks. I've sent them a message with my information and the documents they asked for, and am hoping for the best!

Thanks for the advice. it doesn't seem like the New York Consulate Facebook page will allow me to send a message directly. To which page should I direct this?

@Ben ******
If you are on the web version, click the ... and it's there.

When I check on mobile there's a big "message" button right on the front that lets you send a message

got the visa just in time, luckily. Not sure it would have happened if I didn’t call the consulate for updates every few hours for two days.
