After laos, I went to the Philippines then came back! Now in Vietnam for maybe 2 months! Before I try going back in what should I do? Is there a 3 month visa or 60 day visa I should try to get an what are the requirements for short term visas like this?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A USA passport holder is seeking advice on short-term visa options after having frequently traveled to Thailand and neighboring countries, including Laos and the Philippines. Previous entries to Thailand may impact future visa applications, particularly with certain stamps in the passport indicating a limit on tourist visas. Suggestions include applying for a Single Entry Tourist Visa at a Thai Embassy, which allows for a 60-day stay with a potential 30-day extension. However, there are concerns about previous stamps marking the end of tourist visa eligibility, and seeking more information at a Thai Embassy in Vietnam was recommended.

you can tell your friend that if he did not make two entries by land border without a visa this calendar year, he could enter by land border without a visa or just fly in and get 30 days Visa Exempt Entry and he could apply for a 30 day Extension of Stay on top of this, Or your friend can visit a Thai Embassy or Consulate and apply for a Single Entry Tourist Visa which gives him 60 days of Stay and could also be extended with another 30 days at Immigration.

i would say it make it much more easy for him to explain and show all he did with this passport to visit Thailand in the last years by visiting the Thai Embassy in Vietnam and ask if he can apply with this history for a new Tourist Visa if you want to come into Thailand for 60 days and possible 30 days extra at immigration. Or ask what the alternatives are if he can not get this Tourist visa anymore.

Jan into Thailand from the phillipines. Then immigration next Cambodia then immigration again After that laos then out to the phillipines then back to Thailand out to Vietnam.

5 Tourist visa's in less than 7 months all valid for 60 days each and all could be extended with another 30 days at Immigration. 2 Tourist Visa's would have brought him from Jan til July.

No he didn't have tourist visa that many times

With that marked, I would say there is zero chance now in Vietnam by how it's going or in Malaysia. Certainly not Penang anyway.

but just guessing your friend got a red stamp like this in his passport, he can not apply again in Laos. As he visit the Phillippines and after that Vietnam, he can try at one of the Thai Embassies or Consulates there. Or figure out a plan B that is going to provide a visa that fits the purpose of his stay. The end is coming quickly for people wanting short time visa's to stay long time inside Thailand.

What if they marked his passport in Laos 4 months ago. I would say your friend should know why his passport got marked and can explain you. Sorry, but i do not have access to a friends passport and take a look at a mark.

You use the name Ozzy Record Studio, that sounds like you work inside Thailand, get the work permit and the Non Immigrant B visa.

you are not a tourist it seems, so get the correct visa that applies to you, if you try to enter Thailand again, you maybe refused for a 30 day Visa exempt entry, depending on where you attempt to enter, and the IO at point of entry, better advice available on "Thai Visa Advice" face book page
