TLDR : Answer Summary
A user expressed concern about their landlord not filing the TM30 report and how it might affect their application for a 30-day visa extension at immigration in Pattaya. Several commenters shared advice; while some immigration offices may require proof of a TM30 for extensions, others do not ask for it. It's suggested that the user should apply for the extension regardless and be prepared to pay a fine if necessary.

AND before this devolves into yet another mindless "Do I or Don't I" TM30 thread, we are done.

Just go try to get your 30 day extension, you're out nothing by trying it and who knows it might slide thru without a TM30.

Bangkok and Chiang Mai do not require "tourists" (on 30 day visa exempt or 60 day tourist visa entries) to file a TM30 to get a 30 day extension. Maybe Jomtien changed and doesn't require it either.

Good Luck, (y)

AFAIK: Jomtien DOES require you or your land lord to have filed a TM30 to get a 30 day extension on a visa exempt entry.

Take the receipt of where you're staying (to show you really stay there) and go apply for the extension. At worst you'll get an 800 baht fine for failure to file BUT you'll get to get your 30 day extension

The way I see it is the only option I have is to take a trip out of Thailand for a few days and get a new non-visa and then do the TM30 myself

just go file for your extension and deak with the fact that you'll probably get an 800 baht fine because there was no TM30 filed.

Mark, did u have any international travel out of and then returning to TH since yr original arrival on this trip?

AFAIK, the tendency to require TM30s when the person has not left Thailand has decreased significantly lately.

There is no requirement or anything with travel to report your arrival within 24 hours at an address in Thailand.

they're not on a long term extension, they entered on a 30 day visa exempt entry and want a 30 day extension of it

okay, first off you can't go to the immigration office and get a 30 day VISA <- seeing as there is no such thing :O

IF you're talking about a 30 day extension, depending on the immigration office you use you might have to show proof you or your land lord filed a TM30 or you might not..

Bangkok, Chiang Mai and other places don't require proof you did a TM30 to get a 30 day extension BUT some offices do.

Hi Tod, I did an extension of stay several years ago in Pattaya but they didn't ask for it last time but I know things have changed since then

Getting a 30 days extension is available at Thai Immigration 1,900 Thai baht.

If you get asked about no TM30 was filed, you may be denied extension until it has been filed along with a possible fine too.

We cannot tell you what will happen as immigration offices have differing views on this.

This is what I'm concerned about that they may reject it for an extension

no problem, some immigration offices do not ask if you are inside Thailand on a 30 day Visa exempt entry or Tourist Visa and if they ask you pay the fine of 800 Thb.

What is a 30 day visa at immigration? They only sell extension of stays.
