TLDR : Answer Summary
A user expressed concern about their landlord not filing the TM30 report and how it might affect their application for a 30-day visa extension at immigration in Pattaya. Several commenters shared advice; while some immigration offices may require proof of a TM30 for extensions, others do not ask for it. It's suggested that the user should apply for the extension regardless and be prepared to pay a fine if necessary.
AND before this devolves into yet another mindless "Do I or Don't I" TM30 thread, we are done.
Just go try to get your 30 day extension, you're out nothing by trying it and who knows it might slide thru without a TM30.
Bangkok and Chiang Mai do not require "tourists" (on 30 day visa exempt or 60 day tourist visa entries) to file a TM30 to get a 30 day extension. Maybe Jomtien changed and doesn't require it either.
AFAIK: Jomtien DOES require you or your land lord to have filed a TM30 to get a 30 day extension on a visa exempt entry.
Take the receipt of where you're staying (to show you really stay there) and go apply for the extension. At worst you'll get an 800 baht fine for failure to file BUT you'll get to get your 30 day extension
okay, first off you can't go to the immigration office and get a 30 day VISA <- seeing as there is no such thing :O
IF you're talking about a 30 day extension, depending on the immigration office you use you might have to show proof you or your land lord filed a TM30 or you might not..
Bangkok, Chiang Mai and other places don't require proof you did a TM30 to get a 30 day extension BUT some offices do.
no problem, some immigration offices do not ask if you are inside Thailand on a 30 day Visa exempt entry or Tourist Visa and if they ask you pay the fine of 800 Thb.
