Hopefully an easy question. I currently have a 60 extension for visiting my Thai wife and have applied for a 1 year extension based on marriage. Went to immigration on the day in my passport to be told “it’s not come yet. Come back next week.” Unfortunately my current visa will expire before this date. What should I do?

, Joy is absolutely correct. It has happened to me a couple of times too. I keep the 1,900 Baht recipt for the visa in my passport until I get the actual extension inked in. I know I wouldn't have problems with immigration it's just for others. For example booking into a hotel or showing proof of ID at the bank.

I did speak to Immigration about it at the time and they assured me it was fine.

Guessing you are "under consideration" at the moment, don't panic and just go back to collect your full extension
