Hello everyone,

Situation: having a non o 90 days from Laos for being married to a Thai.

Going for a 1 year extension at my local immigration office on 25 of March (date that my 400k will be seasoned for 2 months in my Thai bank account).

So this means that I gonna get an "under consideration" stamp for 1 month on 25 of March. Meaning I have to go back to immigration to pick up my extension stamp on 25 of April.

We are planning to fly to Belgium for 2 weeks on the 29th of April.

Question:

What happens if my "extension of stay" isn't ready yet? Last year they also told me to come back after 1 week since they had to much work (they wouldn't give me an extra "under consideration " stamp saying that was not needed......) .

Can I exist on an extra stamp which would allow me for an extra few weeks until I'm back in the Kingdom?

Thank's in advance for your advice.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about the process and implications of not receiving their extension of stay stamp in Thailand before traveling to Belgium while on a Non-O visa. They face a potential gap if the extension isn't ready by the time of their planned departure.

When I done my last extension on day 30 I had to phone immigration to see if they had the extension ok from Bangkok... took 45 days in total that was Pathum Thani immigration.

many smaller immigration offices send their paperwork to Bangkok (or the head office in their Division) to get the approval and sometimes they take more than the under consideration period.

IF when you apply you're not gonna be inside the country when the 30 day under consideration period rolls around TELL THEM. I have seen them give 45 day under consideration stamps when a person showed that they wouldn't be in the country when the 30 days was up.

And remember to heed Robert's advice, you WILL need to get a re-entry permit that covers you ONLY for the under consideration period.

April 25 is a Saturday. You won’t be picking anything up on that date.

You apply for the Extension of Stay, i goes normally 30 days under consideration and you have to report on that day.

If you want to travel you need the re-entry permit but still have to be back on that day, if you can not make the report, you start over again with a new Non Immigrant O visa.
