What should I do if my UK passport was stolen in Thailand, and how much will it cost to replace it?
Hi can anyone help me. My passport got stolen from a hotel help desk. I have video footage to prove. Police got the passport back but it's been ripped up and I got a police report. I'm from the uk. What do I do and how much for a new uk passport?

People from the UK get new passports from the company called VFS Global on Sukhumvit Soi 13 in Bangkok. They are the company that the UK gov't contracts with to do that service

The UK Embassy does not process visa applications. They will give him an ETD to go back to UK only. He needs to got to VFS in Trendy Building for passport replacementChristina *********

For being overseas and needing a new passport, it takes up to 3 weeks. Super easy, fill out everything online and a new one comes in the post.

You don't need an agent. If you can tie your shoe laces and can post on FB you are more than capable of applying on line at the aforementioned link.

You can apply for new passport here in Bangkok. You make an appointment at the trendy building sukhimvit, take all that paperwork even the damaged passport and they act as agents for the UK passport office. The email address is online via the Gov website I just renewed mine and it was very straight forward cost £118 with the postage

no it’s on the passport renewal if you go to the government website and put passport overseas it gives you all the info. It’s managed by a company called VfWS they work out of the Trendy building sukhumvit 13. I can’t link the website as you need to put in your details and then it tells you what you need but essentially you email and they give you an appointment and tell you what to take Lee *********

you don’t need to involve the embassy at all it’s a straight forward passport lost or stolen replacement so just go straight to them Lee *********

yeah you actually don’t need it. Just tell them it was stolen. The UK Embassy in BKK is great. You’ll have no problems. Sorry that happened to you.

Photo copy all the pages ..complete the application online .contact the UK Consulate and inform them of what's happened takes about 7 days to receive a replacement

I think it’s easier to say it’s lost, cheaper renewal price and you don’t have to post your old one. Mine was damaged I said it was lost took about 2 weeks 🙂

I worked with a teacher from the UK and he had a similar issues he got a new passport in less than 24 hrs, I am not sue of the cost. I was jealous because my passport expired and it took 14 business days to replace it. make sure you keep your old passport if you have a Thai bank account. They don't seem to understand that your passport numbers change (at least in the US they do) and yes he got it at the UK embassy in BKK.

The the British emergency passport is an off-white colour, not the standard burgundy colour. It is also only valid for emergency travel (which must be declared/submitted with the application for the emergency passport).

Had mine stolen I Prague 5 years ago went to British Consulate there in 24 hrs they issued a temporary passport 0ne use only cost 90 pounds hope this helps

as advised, just contact VFS. No need for an agent or the embassy.VFS are actually quite efficient and helpful.
If you go to the British government's website in this link and start the process by reporting it stolen, they will also give you the contact details for VFS after you provide the answers to their questionnaire

no. You can either use an agent or apply online via VFS. You make a booking and drop everything off, then you collect the new passport once it arrives. An agent will do it all for 5000 baht plus the passport cost

Normal deal with your country’s embassy in thailand they issue temp passport to return home then you get new passport I in your country when you go home that’s the process for Australia
