I got my new passport there back in 2013 and it took 8 weeks. Maybe they have a new system now so they can turn it around quicker.

Turned mine around in 7 days from Bangkok... Couldn't believe it after the 3 month wait a couple of years prior. (Due to a backlog and staff cuts, change of office, summer holidays etc etc)

It takes about 10 days, although they recommend allowing 3 weeks. In the summer there can be a backlog.
