TLDR : Answer Summary
The best way to resolve a 1-day overstay in Thailand due to a flight error is to clear immigration before midnight of your intended departure date to avoid fines. If your flight is shortly after midnight, ensure you go through immigration before the new date starts. If not, you can opt to apply for a 30-day extension at a local immigration office or simply pay the overstay fine, which is typically not enforced for a one-day overstay. Discussions also mention contacting your airline for luggage check-in times, and the implications of an overstay stamp for future entries.
If not already extended at immigration get it. Or go airport day before. Grab a lounge and relax. Or pay the overstay if not planing to go Thailand much in future.
Today peoples are having problems entering with Tourist E-Visa etc and 2 trips pr year to enter Thailand. I doubt adding a overstay stamp in you passport will make it easier
no they really aren’t. Same as always. Just more people making noise on the internet. And overstay stamps are irrelevant. You have paid your fine. That’s all there is to it
No worries. Just go thru the airport. They will direct you to overstay counter in BKK. If only one day, you will not likely be fined the 500 baht but receive a red overstay stamp
agree... it is only 1 day, but most would agree it best to pay 1,900thb at immigration for an extension rather than risk getting caught within that '1' day overstay for whatever reason (traffic stop/accident/dispute on final payment etc) and get deported and banned.. also not good idea to have any 'red' stamps in your passport.
