TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual has an overstay of one day on their Thai visa, with their extension ending on March 26 and a flight on March 27. Comments suggest that the overstay fines are typically 500 baht per day but are often waived for just one day. Advice includes smiling and explaining the situation at immigration, and it's generally considered acceptable as long as the overstay does not exceed 24 hours. It is recommended to deal with immigration on March 26, before their flight.

You can go through immmigration before midnight on the 26th.

Bad move = in present day hyper-strict Thai immigration

so no experience with overstays…. Got it. Over 80 countries, and more than a dozen overstays. You pay your fine and move on. Ever get a speeding ticket lol? Stop shitting your pants over a one day overstay. It’s like a speeding ticket

Nothing at all. Overstay fines are 500 baht/day. But they often waive the fine for one day. No worries
