How can I obtain a medical certificate for a Visa O-A without expensive tests?

My doctor does not want to sign the medical certificate required for Visa O-A.

Any advice or suggestions on getting medical certificate signed without having expensive tests and x-rays? I live in Florida, but I think I read some people did it via tele-health?

I requested the signature from my primary care doctor...but she freaked out saying she can not sign it without running blood tests and x-rays for the "tuberculosis, elephantiasis, leprosy, drug addiction, and third step of syphilis."

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is seeking advice on obtaining a medical certificate necessary for a Thailand Visa O-A, as their primary care doctor in Florida refuses to sign it without conducting expensive tests. Community members provide various suggestions, including using telehealth services, visiting walk-in clinics, or seeking a different doctor who may be more lenient. Some shared their own experiences successfully obtaining the certificate with minimal fuss, while others discussed the general challenges faced in Florida regarding healthcare and obtaining necessary documentation for visas.

Are you serious? Do you even know what a troll is? You’re the one who is attacking someone for not wanting to pay thousands of dollars and expose themselves to completely unnecessary radiation. I can’t speak for Chris, but as a two-time cancer survivor, I certainly would not want to do this either. I’m glad he is asking the question, so please go away, TROLL!

Just try it with different doctors until you find one willing to sign this thing. That's what I would do bro.

Love ChiangMai...Hate Florida, especially the doctors. lol. I think someone already said it, but just look for another doctor. What part of florida are you in? I went to several doctors in Florida and:

1) They seemed to only be in it for the money

2) They sure didn't stick their necks out for anything

3) They most certainly didn't think at all for themselves...it was rather scary.

Worst case, look for a doctor outside of Florida...I'm completely serious. I left Florida in April because I needed medical treatment and I surely wasn't going to get it there in the midst of the pandemic (William-I went to CA, in fact, lol). If you happen to be in PBC, I would make a couple suggestions of possibilities, but overall...really not digging FL.

oh man, you and I can't get connected I'm from The San Francisco Bay Area. Go SF Giants, Warriors and Raiders. I do partake in a 9er game now and then. I do like The Lakers but I hate The Dodgers with a passion. The funny thing is I've moved to SoCal and live in Ventura County area and really like it but, I'm surrounded by Dodgers Fans. YUK!

I try to spend 3 to 6 months of the year in Thailand. Met a great gal and built a house in Surin, North East Thailand. Although we travel around beach communities around the Country. Maybe we can meet there one day. No entry now. Have to wait and see how the election goes. Has alot to do with Thailand allowing us in. Now Americans are banned as far as I know. I'll be going as soon as it opens up.

I did mine in the U.K. the NHS GP surgery were not interested. The local private hospital of course wanted to do the full shabang of tests £££. In the end I emailed a copy to a private GP practice and he laughed and said come and see me. He just eyeballed me, listened to my chest and signed it. £100. I mean honestly any Dr should be able to eyeball those types of chronic conditions. They wouldn’t send you for tests without suspecting something so why insist on tests to prove nothing?

UW medicine virtual clinic. $49 done online via cam. Put that you are in Oregon. Can’t remember docs name but will check and add later. Got the cert in about 10 minutes. Was accepted just fine. Doc is John Kang. Just a few questions and you have your cert. does for many Thais and spouses. You have to make an account on the app after you download it.
Tom ********
What kind of visa are you trying to get? I am not familiar with all the different ones. I came over with my Thai wife so I did the spouse of Thai national. All I needed was a COE, not an extensive examination.

No help to you but my Dr looked at it , laughed and signed it in a minute (in Australia). Known Dr for long time btw.

having lived in Thailand lots, I no longer have a local GP in Australia and had a terrible time trying to get a Dr to sign it. As a last resort, I asked my specialist Dr and he agreed. All of them wanted to do tests etc and the cost would have been thousands plus weeks of waiting!

It’s interesting to note that the Thai Embassy in Canberra, who issue the A-O visa’s, said they would accept a Thai signed medical certificate made within 3 months. I had planned to get it here in Thailand just before a visit back to Australia for a new application.

my Dr. did the same, and he told me to have a nice trip

There's a difference between paying the doctor and the cost of the tests that the doctor is asking for in the U.S. They're looking for thousands of dollars worth of testing (remember, U.S. medical care sucks)
