What are the requirements for obtaining a Non-O-A visa in Canada, and how can I handle the medical certificate process?

Hi all, thanks for all the wonderful advice here. I am trying to complete the requirements for non O-A 1 year visa. Multiple entry. I have downloaded the template Thai medical certificate with certain tests such as leprosy and elephantiasis. These tests are not common here in North America. The hospital says 30-40 days for results? I’m in Canada so the results are sent to CCDC. Any suggestions? Can’t go to US.

Any suggestions would appreciate?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the challenges faced by a Canadian expat trying to obtain a Non O-A 1-year visa for Thailand, particularly regarding the medical certificate requirements that include tests not commonly done in North America. The user is seeking advice on how to expedite the medical results, as they are facing long wait times and difficulties due to being unable to access services in the U.S. Community members suggest looking into the Non O visa as an alternative, and several share experiences of obtaining the necessary certification without undergoing the specific tests mentioned, emphasizing the flexibility some doctors might provide.

The form is a joke to doctors. Just find any doctor, I bet they sign it for you.

In Australia, we used our usual general practitioner and they did not do any of those tests. They just filled in the form that we did not present to them with any of those diseases.

no, those are the requirements for the Non-OA. The Non-O has no medical, police check or health insurance requirements.

@Michelle ***************
LTR is a completely separate visa type that is not a non- visa at all. The LTR is done by the BOI office.

it's difficult but not impossible on a 90 day O visa.

Most doctors will just look at it, laugh and sign it. You might be able to find a doctor that will let you do a video call and sign it for you. There is one in Thailand that will do it that way, but some embassies will not accept it from a doctor in Thailand.

Suggest you look at the requirements for a Non-O, it may be more appropriate for you.
