TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation discusses options for avoiding blacklisting due to overstaying a visa in Thailand, primarily focusing on the conditions under which blacklisting occurs. Comments indicate that overstay of less than 90 days typically does not result in blacklisting, but it may complicate future re-entry. Suggestions include paying the overstay fine and potential visa runs to extend stay without penalties if the overstay is under 90 days. It is also mentioned that those with longer overstays may face more severe repercussions.

Deserves to be banned for at least a year minimum.

If overstay below 90 days you can have a visa run in Satun. Pay 20k and around 2-3k for the "boys". They will give you 45 days...You leave by van 5 am, do the u-turn and back around 8 pm. No ban below 90 days. Pm me if you want a referral for the visa run company.

Blacklisting only occurs (when surrendering at an airport) if the overstay is more than 90 days. If he overstayed 40 days he shouldn't be blacklisted, BUT he will almost certainly have trouble reentering if he trys to come back soon.

Overstay bans do not come into play until 90 days or more.

Any overstay will not look great in your passport and can cause problems at entries possibly, depending on the IO you are in front of.

Some visas cannot be applied for if you have overstay also.

As long as you are paid up and not caught and deported in most cases its okay to re- enter.

Some countries may frown on overstay when you enter also, Singapore for example can be tough on overstay in your PP.

Yep yet somehow the bad ones seem to do as they please while those who play by the rules have to beg for permission and explain our entire life to them. The world caters to the worst types.

Depends how long
Steve ********
How long has your "friend" been on overstay?

@Steve *******
20,000 / 500 = 40 So id say 40 days overstay.

@Phil *******
Not necessarily. 20,000 baht is the maximum fine. So it could be 40 days or 40 weeks. The length of overstay is the critical factor

@Phil *******
the max fine is 20,000 so it could be anywhere from 40 days to 5+ years
